When John Wayne was filming his classic westerns against the backdrop of the Southern Utah desert, the state was new to the world of filmmaking. Nearly a century later, Utah’s cinematic importance is clear— consistently serving as inspiration and filming locations for some of the biggest films in Hollywood, and frequently hosting glamorous industry events. Utah Film Studios has elevated the state’s movie-making offerings even further, providing world class facilities that rival major studios from across the country, all from an ideal location just 10 minutes away from Park City’s vibrant old town. From the A24 horror favorite “Hereditary,” to the award-winning tv series “Yellowstone,” among many others, the studios continue to bring art of the highest caliber to our screens.
A World-Class Production Facility
Covering approximately 100,000 square feet, the studios offer 45,000 square feet of sound stage space, four separate suites of production offices, hair and makeup studios, a mill, and a variety of meeting rooms and storage. Each of the three sound stages are state of the art structures, with ceiling heights of 35’ and wood floors ideally constructed for convenient world-building.
With facilities to support the action both behind and in front of the camera, the spaces at Utah Film Studios are uniquely qualified to support every step along the road to making a feature length film.
